Friday, May 23
Activity:  Chapter Family Memorial Day Campout
Type:  OPEN Family social

Location:  Quintana Beach County Park
Cost:  RV =  $18.00 per night, pay at the office
Tent/other camper =  $5.00 per day
Cabins - call the park for prices 

Quintana Beach County Park, located on the Gulf offers full RV hookups, tent camping, and cabin rentals.  Historical Quintana homes have been converted into a Museum, Park Offices, and Community House.  Each site has a picnic table and grill and there are restrooms with showers, laundry facilities, and dump station.  Cabins are also available to rent.  Park telephone numbers: 1-800-872-7578, or 979-233-1461.

The price for the sites has been reduced because we filled all our 19 sites and got the rally rate.  RV campers pay at the office.  All RV sites have been reserved.  Tent campers welcome - please make your checks out to PWP.

Spend your Memorial Day weekend with us at this fun park by the beach.  We will be in the two circles of Heron Court just as you come in on the left.  All sites have been assigned.  Check in at the Office to get the combination to the restroom and the front gate.  Please remember to sign in BEFORE you set up camp.  I am supposed to be on site 10.
 
Join us for fun in the sun on the beach or stay in the shade of the Seaburn House.  Bring your float toys or games to enjoy the long weekend with your PWP friends.  This is an OPEN function so invite your friends to camp with us.  They DO need reservations - even if they are tent camping.  Day visitors are welcome but please sign in and park by the office.

Directions:  Take Hwy. 288 south past Freeport.  You will come to a T on FM 1495 where you will turn right.  Go over the BIG bridge and turn left at the stop sign at the bottom of the bridge to C.R. 723 (if you keep going straight you will be in the ocean).  Go about 3-1/2 mi. to another T and turn right into Quintana Beach County Park.

Saturday, May 24
 
They have boardwalks, covered and/or shaded pavilions, hiking trails, lighted wooden fishing pier,  boat ramps, a playground, pedestrian-only beach with palapas for relaxing, horseshoe courts, a volleyball area, and an interpretive center.  We have reserved the Seaburn House as a place to relax, cool off, and gather for games.

People with last names beginning with:
   H - L    bring a salad, bread, fruit, or meat dish
   M - O     bring a side dish, vegetable, or meat dish
   P - S    bring a dessert, macaroni & cheese, or a meat dish
   A - G    bring a meat dish
 
Please remember:
You will need to furnish your own plates, silverware, and drinks.  Pets are NOT allowed in the pot luck area.  To help with having a balanced meal please bring a dish (enough to feed the number of people in your family) by your initial.  When the dinner is over be sure to clean up and take your dish back with you.

BYOD (bring your own dinner). Let's get together for dinner at the Seaburn House at 6:00 tonight.   PWP will provide dessert -  ice cream, bowls, and spoons - you bring toppings.
 
Monday, May 26
 
Happy Memorial Day!  Enjoy one last trip to the beach before we go home.  Campout concludes at noon.
